Hi, I'm Nelson Nibbles.

Every week I pick one recipe I have never cooked before, make it, film it, and post the honest version — including the parts that went badly. This site is the archive of all of it in one place.

How this works

I don't write these recipes. I find them from cooks and publications who are far better at this than I am. What I add is the part you cannot get from a recipe card: whether it actually works in a normal kitchen, where the instructions leave you hanging, and whether it was worth the time.

So every page here gives you my photos, my rating, my notes and my mistakes — and then a link straight to the original author for the real ingredients and instructions. They did the hard part. They should get the traffic.

The randomizer

The thing I actually built this site for. Standing in the kitchen with no idea what to make is the worst part of cooking. Hit Surprise me and it pulls a random recipe from the archive — and if you've filtered down to, say, only pasta, it will only surprise you with pasta.
